Building strong relationships in business is one of the most rewarding aspects of what I do. Over time, my professional connections with individuals like Anthony Colandra, Director of Sustainable Development and Senior Superintendent at Sinclair & Associates Construction Management, have grown into genuine friendships. I now speak with Anthony daily, and it’s incredible to collaborate with someone who has become a trusted friend. I want to thank him again for taking the time to show me the incredible work his team has accomplished with wood and mass timber projects. These masterpieces are a testament to his craftsmanship and dedication to sustainable construction.

Our shared passion for sustainable development extends to my connection with Jorge Ventura, the Area Sales Manager for Portwest, who I met through Anthony. Both of these gentlemen embody professionalism and innovation in their respective fields. Jorge has been instrumental in supporting Portwest and its efforts to enhance safety and sustainability across the construction industry.

I first met Anthony at the Women in Construction Gala, an event that brought together leaders from various sectors of the industry. It was there I also learned about the exciting projects currently underway, including the transformation of 118 West 13th Street in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village Historic District. This seven-story residential conversion, designed by BKSK Architects and spearheaded by Slate Property Group in collaboration with Avenue Realty Capital, is truly a landmark project. With eight condominium units spanning 34,000 square feet, it exemplifies how innovation and respect for history can coexist.

The building, originally constructed in 1931, previously served as Eugene Lang College dormitory for The New School and was recognized as one of the most expensive dormitories of its time. Now, it’s being reimagined into a space that reflects both modern design and the character of its historic surroundings.

I’m honored to be part of this network of talented professionals, and I look forward to continuing our collaborations. Thank you again, Anthony and Jorge, for your friendship, your incredible contributions to the industry, and your support of Portwest’s mission.
